This new car is supposed to be a pre-commercial production version, and its production version will not be launched before 2025.

The non-Volvo Polestar 5 electric car is scheduled to be manufactured in China, and is set to benefit from StoreDot's "extremely fast charging" (XFC) technology. It promises to charge the battery enough to travel 100 miles (160 km) in just five minutes without causing battery condition to deteriorate. Prototypes will be tested using the new technology in 2024, but it remains to be seen whether it will be available for production vehicles from day one.
