Chevrolet announced updates to the 2024 Equinox. It is a compact family crossover car belonging to the American company. The car itself has not changed for the new year, but customers can now choose from two new colors: Riptide Blue and Lakeshore Blue.

More importantly, it offers the Driver Confidence II package, which includes lane change assist, blind zone alert, and rear cross-traffic alert. This is standard on LT, RS and Premier models but can be optioned on the base LS trim.

Also, some Equinox models have become more expensive than before. The basic LS model maintains a starting price of $26,600, and the Premier model has a price of $31,800. The LT model is now more expensive. Its price is now $29,495, an increase of $1,795. All four trim levels can be specified with all-wheel drive for an additional $1,600.

The Equinox was revamped in 2020 as a 2021 model, and is now starting to look outdated, especially compared to newer competitors. The lack of more than one engine also works against the crossover, as it is limited to a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that produces only 175 horsepower. Also, the only transmission available is a CVT, which makes the car more difficult to compete with.

Leaked images have previously appeared via the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, giving us an idea of what to expect from the next generation of Equinox.

Externally, the new model resembles the recently revealed Traverse. The latter features a bold design with a more prominent grille, slim headlights, and taillight clusters like those found on the electric Blazer. The model leaked in China certainly has better road presence than the current Equinox.

The new Equinox is expected to debut next year as a 2025 model and should provide the required updates in terms of technology and performance.
